What to Expect from Scuba 2024 VBS

What is VBS  all about?

 

                         Fun, Fun…. And More Fun.

 

VBS is about building relationships and learning all about God and His Word in realistic practical applications through varied activities.

​

This summers SCUBA VBS is one that will help your child(ren) dive into friendship with God!

​

In this VBS, kids will explore what it means to have a friendship with a real, loving, trustworthy God—a friendship that lasts forever!

​

Promise of Life Church’s VBS is going a step further where we go deeper into “Knowing Jesus as Lord”, “How to Hear from God” and be “How to be Led by the Holy Spirit”.

​

Our students can expect a week full of faith discoveries, memorable music, and epic adventures that help kids grow in faith!

 

And even greater advantage to these type of small Crews is that there is plenty of time

 

The Way it our VBS  Week Works.

The Crew Leaders

​

We have kept crews small so you can really get to know your kids. That relationship building is crucial when it comes to faith development. Crucial. A relationship with a caring Christian can help a child grow in their friendship with Jesus. So your role matters.

​

• Kids travel through every experience at VBS with small groups called crews. Each crew consists of up to five kids in one adult or teenage crew leader, and that's you.

• We have crews of mixed ages of elementary children, ranging in age from 4 years to 11 years.

• The wonderful thing about our varied age Crew teams is that there are both learning opportunities as well as leadership training opportunities. Each VBS Crew will be lead by an older youth or an adult. However, for those students who are interested, we are engaging and training up the 11 year olds as our Junior Crew Leaders.

• Because our groups are smaller, and of mixed age groups, the older students have the opportunity to be an interactive influence on the younger students.  As the little ones will follow the role model of the older students, discipline issues will be significantly reduced.

 

So, as a Crew Leader, there's more good news. You're not in charge of preparing or teaching activities. You just get to guide your crew and join them in the VBS Fun and help them build meaningful relationships.

 

Station Leader

Every Day there is a specific Bible topic and focus and we navigate the deep-sea adventure, and each lesson in every station will relate to that topic.

​

Children learn easily if you tell them, you show them, you allow them to apply the lesson, and repeat their lesson. Throughout the day children will begin with

​

• Sing & Play Splash – Our opening Session of Praise & Worship and morning Greetings. Then it is on to . . .

​

• Bubble Up…Circle Time – where the children can review the previous days activities, share their thoughts and get to know one another within their Crew

​

Next is our underwater Adventures Stations which include:

​

• Deep Bible Adventures – where they get to act out the story (like crawling into the belly of the whale.

• Sticky Scriptures – memory verses, for which they will receive a Memory Verse Character

• Imagination Station – hands on science experiments

• Reef Recreation – outdoor activities

 

So, you can see a station leaders’ job is to provide unique, memorable experiences, lead kids into exploring God's word, and set the stage for kids to form a lifelong relationship with other kids, caring adults, and most importantly with Jesus.

 

Our Snack Leaders & Helper get to have fun too!

​

• With Tidal Treats - 2 snack times, one of which will be a creative adventure.

And of course, our mid-day break with lunch in which each child will bring to VBS with them.

 

After lunch we gather for a time of quiet Worship and learn lessons on How to Hear from God and follow his leadings.

​

The Day's Finale'

 

Then a few more rounds of Adventure Station activities, and then back for our wrap up, the day end Drama Skit, more Praise & Worship Dance and our Finale Review.

​

We call it at day, with pick up at 4:30 pm. Or by 6:30 pm for those who need After Camp Care.  

And we all but guarantee that your child will want their dinner and then off to bed.  Or at least we ask  that they get a  good nights sleeps so that the next days adventures will be thoroughly enjoyed.

Adult Supervision:

To make this all possible WE NEED YOU.

 

While we have many enthusiastic young youth, to be incompliance with our insurance company and Plan to Protect® we do require a minimum of 8 to 12 screened adult for supervision for each day of VBS.

​

At the end of the day, your children will love this simple, flexible, and innovative way of learning to explore intimacy and friendship with God, to be more intimately acquainted with Jesus as their Lord and Saviour and they will learn and grow in their knowledge and understanding of who the Holy Spirit is and how to be led by Him.

​

You as a leader, should you choose to embark on this underwater SCUBA adventure are in for an amazing week.

​

It is remarkable to witness students grow in deeper relationship between one another and they will flourish the knowledge  Word, and most important between the children and their intimacy with Father God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit.
